2:30pm – 3:30 pm

Ages 8- 10 years old

Please note a parent or guardian must be the one to fill out the registration form for their child. Each child is expected to have access to contact a parent/guardian if needed at any time during the event. If a child does not have a phone, they are welcomed to use the facilitators phone to call their guardian. It is important the facilitator has the contact information of who is picking up the child for this incident. This is a drop-off event, though a guardian should be available at any time in the event that the child may call and request to go home for any emergencies.

It is important to note even though this is facilitated by an art therapist, this group is not intended to be a clinical therapy group. This means there is no promise of confidentially, even though everyone’s privacy will be reasonably respected. This group is intended to be an enriching activity that helps educate teens on ways they can use creativity to connect to themselves more, engage them in a positive space with others, and improve their ability to engage in self-care more naturally.

Photography/ Media Release- Photographs will be occasionally taken of the group’s process (including: individuals, art work, group, etc) to share on social media and Forks Art Society news letter. Check “I give consent” if you agree to the release of the media of your child in this setting. Be aware the facilitator will also be sensitive to each child’s individual feelings about photography and will seek for their verbal consent as well in the moment, if the guardian gives consent here. You always have the right to ask me to delete a photo/media even if you gave consent. That is never a problem, you just need to ask. If you do not give consent, your child will be cropped out or blurred in any photos taken in the space. If you do not give consent check, “I decline consent”

Thank you for signing your child up for creative connections! I am so grateful to have your child be a part of this unique creative community. This workshop is designed to be a judgmental free zone. If any child violates that rule without being able to self-correct with prompts from the facilitator, they will be asked to discuss their appropriateness for the group with their guardian. At any time, the facilitator has the right to make the call that a child might not be appropriate for the group if they harm the sense of emotional or physical safety for other children in the group. It is important to keep a compassionate atmosphere so everyone attending can enjoy the benefits of this workshop. Everyone is expected to respect The Forks Art Society space and leave the space the way you found it. Please be aware there are no refunds available after any payment is made. Every guardian is responsible to save the facilitators phone number incase they need to get in touch with their child urgently during an event. It is important to mention the facilitator is a mandated reporter and if any child shares concerning information that they are in danger, the facilitator will notify the emergency contact and emergency services if necessary. Emergency services will be contacted immediately if any child displays urgent risk to self or others in the event space. If any such incident occurred the parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible. Other child participant’s parents would also be debriefed on any incident that they witnessed. These terms are set for everyone’s safety.
